The protesters in Dover were trying to, and succeeding in intimidating. The government has cut crossings by small boats by 40%. These people would happily see desperate migrants drown. There are many reasons to try and stop the small boats, child trafficking, slave labour amongst them – but this sort of action is concerning – it was obviously organised, was intimidatory and against the democracy that we have held for hundreds of years. Bullies must never be allowed to prosper.
