Is this the word of the year? I was going to say new word – but I am hiding my ignorance!

Definition “Outstandingly bad, shocking”. And basically can be applied to any aspect of the UK Government.

USA lifts tariffs with EU on steel. But not the UK – because we are not a large trade partner. Another prediction about the disaster that is Brexit, coming home to roost.

Unfortunately the government are too concerned with their own poor behaviour to grasp this nettle and start to build a future.

Further proof of the lack of integrity is the fact that he has not resigned. And that members of his cabinet either continue to pedal lies on his behalf, or hide from the press! And meanwhile the right wing rebel against Plan B covid safety measures quoting ‘freedom’ whilst also voting to stop peaceful protests. Hypocrisy seems to be a requirement for Tories.

Do we actually have a police force? There is a well shared video regarding a party in Downing Street and the police say there is no evidence? What colour are police cars nowadays – I have not seen one for a couple of years? In the past rich people would give money for honours, now it seems that honours are give for silence.

Work from home unless going to a party. Wear a mask unless you are a Tory MP in Parliament. How recent is a recent lateral flow test? And what are the punishments? We know the vast majority will follow the letter of the advice, but is is plain that people from many different parts of society will not. The Met Police obviously will not investigate if Johnson is involved as he has given Cressida Dick honours to ensure her loyalty. (My opinion).

The experts predictions. 1 million cases by the end of the month. Up to 2000 hospitalisations a day. I guess that even with vaccination anyone with it will be off work thus hitting the sup[ply chain further.

Tonight I have watched the Parliament Channel on my laptop. It is very clear that there is a divide in MP’s. Those that put forward a view they think their constituents support, and those who seem to be promoting their own values and beliefs (all were old, white and male). I am sure an analysis of their statements would support this.

PM to announce new Covid restrictions. They are probably not needed for medical reasons, but definitely to save his arse. Be sure they will not make sense as a co-ordinated policy.

And OK I did not know there was a greek letter Omicron! So now you know you are dealing with someone of limited classical education. But on to Omicron – what is going on? The Government has imposed travel restrictions that seem designed to extract money from travellers rather than stop the spread of the variant that seems well established across the UK anyway.

In the past it was not uncommon for Ministers to resign rather than collude with policies they did not agree with. Not this lot – they even go out and spread lies on their leaders behalf.
