When I was little, a long time ago, I do not remember going out in nature unless for a reason, or cooking – other than hanging around to lick the spoon and hopefully the bowl. But we had a garden and allotment, and mum cooked a lot. My mum did not have to work to pay the mortgage like most families do today. Takeawys and fast food have seemingly taken over. Jamie Oliver does his bit as do lots of other. Countryfile and Packham and Attenborough do their best. But both these topics should be an integral part of our way of life and culture, not a 30/50 minute TV slot.
Our local MP’s are illogical
So Penrose and Fox think it illogical that North Somerset is in tier 3. And it is only because North Somerset is in the ‘travel to work’ zone for Bristol. So neither of them look at the statistics which shows NS to be well above the national average (BANES is below it). I guess Penrose avoids statistics as his missus is in charge of test and don’t bother tracking fiasco. Fox is just an idiot.
COVID STATS AND UPDATE
So North Somerset is in Tier 3 along with Bristol, whilst Cornwall is in Tier 1. When I mentioned this to a local businessman – very ~Tory, his immediate reaction was bloody Somalian immigrants. This is so far from the truth that I am pleased my stats gave me factual ammunition to put him right. Stats on P2.

AKA the Daily Mail. How dare a $billionaire criticise a footballer for showing compassion. Oh how I hate this paper! Nearly as much as the Sun, actually maybe more! The Sun is rather irrelevant nowadays, but the Mail promotes hate – despicable. Star headline this morning was funny! Something like I can now have mother in-law and Great Uncle ? round – with a very sad face!
CARS
I don’t really care much about cars, except when they go wrong! Mine is not basically going wrong, rather just weird! I went for a drive and on return parked and locked the car. 30 minutes later the alarm went off! And the key would not work. Eventually having spent ages trying to work out how to use the manual key, I shut it off by starting it and turning it off again! Just like a computer really. Anyway it was due its MOT so I took it to the garage and told Mr.Humphry – I think he thought I was more than a bit bonkers, but then it did it to him whilst parked outside waiting for its MOT. He thinks it may have something to do with the boot door – but really has not got a clue. It also would not allow me to put my phone number into wherever the phone number goes via settings. I will find out tomorrow.
Mulled wine
I am going to have a go at a starter recipe – one with loads of spices and orange and lemo9n peel boiled to extract max flavour. Leave for 24 hours, then bottled use as a 20% starter – just add some more wine and heat gently. Possibly with a shot of brandy`?
BELLY PORK
First off, do not buy from supermarket as they seem to just sell the bone bit!

Positive
Positive stats at last. North Somerset down by 25% on last week. However, after a fall in Wales due to their lockdown, their numbers are rising again. If this pattern is repeated we will see rising numbers here around about the 14th Dec. Being cynical – the Government is waiting to announce new tiers until Thursday so as few as possible enter the top tier!

BUDGET
Public service salaries to be frozen ! TBH they cannot complain too much when about a million people have lost their jobs completely. However Slippery Sumak could also show some balls by hitting those very very rich people who have increased their wealth significantly with a stealth tax. A one off major hit on their increased wealth (supported by a lockdown of their physical assets in the UK in case we need to confiscate them for none payment). This is not anti-rich, just accepting that we all have to take a hit? The fairest would be a VAT increase but that would not help manufacturing.
