COVID

SAGE recommends a 10 day circuit breaker, but the government says party on! Cases reached 78,610 yesterday, with 60% of cases in London being Omicron. Already I am seeing mask wearing falling – less than 50% at the shop this morning 6.30 -7.30 am.

COVID

I am monitoring covid stats for areas that concern me.

So far numbers have not increased here or my other areas. I will go back to a spreadsheet format.

WOMEN

Why are women football teams always named women as a suffix? American sports use different suffix for different sports – we should do the same for womens’ sport.

THWAITES

Thwaites is so wide, it goes to the horizon in all directions

Scientists are warning of dramatic changes at one of the biggest glaciers in Antarctica, potentially within the next five to 10 years.

HOC

Watching the HoC – seems that Labour benches are thin? Just checked and many Labour MP’s abstained – about 40. Whilst 8? voted against, mainly the very left wing.

PUBLIC HEALTH

So 70 nasty party MP’s are likely to either vote against or abstain on an issue of Public Health. Would these people have voted against legislation for seatbelts, using mobile phones whilst driving, drink driving, etc. Listening to James O’Brian discuss patriotic duty. Patriotism means doing the best for your country – not wrapping the flag around you or other false gestures.

CONTROL

is the control of the rich slipping? Probably not, but their control of most of the UK media outlets is becoming less significant. the circulation of papers has fallen massively. The politicians are desperate to control the BBC and sell off Channel 5.

SAJID JAVID

“We will throw everything at Omicron” – as long as it is only vaccines. And even then we will water down the rules for a vaccine passport. Also an interesting amount of money @ £22 a shot! Schools are unaffected by Omicron apparently and do not need extra ventilation – where are the air quality testing kits? Regardless of covid I can list many classrooms that need better ventilation full stop – influenza, etc. and with supply teachers costing £180 a day it is worth schools investing in health measures to keep teachers safe (obviously these measures benefit all the students too).
