COVID-19. CONSPIRACY

it is apparent that there is a big difference across the country. And if other reports are correct the number of hospitalisations is increasing fast in the north-east. Whilst I sort of would like to think it divine justice for voting Brexit and Tory, there does seem to be something else. Newcastle is now on 516 and Liverpool 600 per 100000. Both are up from yesterday (17 and 21 +). Why is the government waiting until next week to take action.

I am not a believer in conspiracy theories. However it seem foolish to disregard these statistics. The way the statistics have accelerated across the north of England should have provoked firm action a week ago, not sometime next week. Apparently the stats for Exeter are due to the cockup of data last week and 80% of the figures re the university. HELLO – opening up university was a dumb idea – it is not hindsight to see that moving thousands of young people across the country is not bright! These young people have been shafted by stupid government decisions about exams, and some are now being imprisoned in halls of residence and forced to pay extortionate prices for food.

I will reiterate what I have said before. The whole issue regarding sanctions needs to be localised. The Exeter issue is one to be dealt with via the university. Where numbers of cases per 100000 are climbing rapidly action needs to be taken immediately, not in 10 days time! With clear statistical triggers there is no need for time lags and warnings, but the only proviso should be local input so that anomalies like university or meat packing factories can be dealt with separately. Impact on NHS hospital beds should trigger sanctions regardless. Why is the government not doing this immediately? It is making me feel thick!

Stats for today; and changes since yesterday-

North Somerset 46 +6; Bristol 65 +14; Cornwall 29 +3; Chelmsford 46. =; Sunderland 293 +2; Newcastle. 516 +17; Liverpool 600. +21; Pembroke 25. +2; Norwich 65. +12; Dover 37 +12; Exeter. 438. +48; Nottingham 761.
