COVID

If the analogy of seat belts was applied here and over 80% of people in hospital after traffic accidents – the clamour for fines for non-wearing of seat belts would be overwhelming. So should people who have not been vaccinated be fined? Of course there will be exemptions on medical grounds. But arguments against fines would be negligible – or maybe anyone unvaccinated who needs EMCO could face civil proceedings to recoup the costs of their treatment.

It would create an interesting debate? Public Health versus Individual Freedom. I think Western European democracies have made that decision already?

Why have 5 or 6 million people not been vaccinated? I wonder how many are frightened of the needle? There is a problem with minority groups which needs urgent attention – why are they so alienated from the rest of society. A second problem, highlighted by Football League players (25% not jabbed), is the inability of government to reach the 20-35 age group. Personally I see it as a failure of Education over the past 15 years. League tables and results above education has led to a generation for whom the individual (them) matters more than society. Did someone or a group of people look at the 1960-70’s love and peace era, growth of Friends of the Earth and GreenPeace, disarmament and suss out that education was not not teaching obedience to the status quo. A system which put total emphasis on personal achievement rather than teaching about public good.
