PARTY POLITICS

This is better than proportional representation. No party mass votes. I can write/email my local MP and hope to influence her/him on local issues, or national ones. Obviously they will not vote to my wishes (On past elections over 50 years I would guess I have a 2% success rate). But hopefully we could elect decent human beings who will not follow the “party line”

The present election sees the candidates spouting venom to get the support of 160000 people who are in no way representative of the population. Penrose is my local MP and he walked away fro Johnson – did he vote no confidence in him? I do not know – this info should be very readily available in a democracy. Is Starmer going to insist on Labour MP’s voting for a policy that they have told their constituents the opposite. Lib Dems should not have been able to vote for Student Loans. The MP could change their mind, but would be personally accountable to their constituents – not hiding behind the policies of their party leaders.

OK- not everyone has internet access for this info – so do it on paper for for the minority whined it. Combine this with proportional representation everyone should at least feel represented in some way?
