POLITICAL GAMES

In the past the argument could be made that using the party whip and the 2 party system guaranteed a decisive government. We have seen a party with a huge majority make more U turns than a 800m swimmer. If the extremes of the parties were expelled it is likely that some would be elected anyway, Corbyn and Johnson (if he can find a safe seat). I am not sure this would be good for politics; that is if we get a centrist coalition. Politics needs to examine policies from all directions.

having established that I have, yet again, no solution, it still seems imperative that Sunak shows some balls over the next few weeks. The UK needs a better relationship with Europe on a variety of fronts. The next election is still a long way away.

Michael Heseltine made a comment that we have always had political scandals and that we should ignore them and get on with the politics., This is the sort of comment from a political grandee that emphasises the problem. Michael you are only half right – there has always been scandal and corruption, but that does not mean it should be accepted. Johnson and Raab should be suspended whilst investigations go on.
