Just cooking a gammon to have with avocado mayo, boiled potatoes and salad.
BAKED POTATOES
You just have to love them? Simple, warming, filling. And hopefully local too.
Although I am happy with cheese, and or beans; or tuna/mayo. Or bacon and cheese.
MAY IS THE NEW DECEMBER
Forget super spread(er) xmas meals. Plan for safe spring time picnics and outside parties. I am planning my menu now.
OK so the menu will develop – add ideas please.
Xmas has songs/carols whatever. But suggestions for a spring/summer list of sing a long songs or old favourites – please post comments.
NOT WORKING
It seems so obvious. With the R number being above 1 or even 2 and the number of cases rising just about everywhere something is not working! Are masks and social distancing not enough, or are people not observing the basic rules? What research is being done into how the virus is spreading so fast at the moment?
POTATOES
APPLE AND SULTANA CHUTNEY
NUT ROAST
I am starting with this recipe. But thinking I need to adapt to what I have! So …
VEGAN M’HANNCHA
I would say that I am perhaps the world’s worst person for presenting food. Shambles and mess come to mind as adjectives! And this one was no exception – BUT – for a bit of ‘look what I have done!’ and a great taste this is worth a little effort (if you have someone who will appreciate it!). And vegan too! And there might be pumpkins going cheap next week?
BEER AND APPLE CHUTNEY
I am going to try this one. Looks good. Beer and apple chutney.
APPLE AND STRAWBERRY CRUMBLE
In the oven now – I managed to get some cheap jam strawberries at Draycott. I think I must have bought about 20kg this summer!
