What a year! Sunderland were widely predicted to go down and are still challenging for Europe; and then West Ham United are likely to be relegated unless Tottenham fail to get a point from their last 2 games. Of the promoted teams, Leeds also did well after a hesitant start, but Burnley drop straight back down and are rather surprisingly joined by Wolves. It is rumoured that Chelsea want to buy Roefs, Sunderlands wonder goalie – I would expect a fee in ecess of £50 million, and then Sunderland could invest in midfield and a striker. Elsewhere the Championship playoff is Hull-Southampton if they avoid the spying charge! TBH a fuss about nothing? Coventry have done well under Frank Lampard and Ipswich are back (again). Bristol City again showed a lack of ambition and Bristol Rovers will probably be grateful not to have to face non-leauge football next season.
