To be fair the paper did cover airline hoax’s, AI tech crash and the US midterms as well. Back to Brand, the pervasive misogynistic element of British society is still thriving, I am sure that Brand thought he was ‘just having a good time’, and no one produced evidence to prove him wrong. He is the latest in a number of male figures in media and in industry to be called out for their reprehensible behaviour. He did not make a mistake whilst having a fumble, but actively used his power to manipulate women into having sex with him. Sex education in schools and society in general needs to make very clear where the red line is, and yes I am aware that womn can also be promiscuous, but men (and it is men) need to have the rules spelt out. Many firms have rules regarding this, but they are worded in a sexist way that belittles women and does not equate sexuality with equality. Confesion time – I beleive my divorce after 24 years was a result (oh shit, I had many failings so the next bit was only part of the problem), of my treating my wife as an equal, I was never violent, coercive or dominant – her actions at times suggested that I should have taken a more dominant approach (being a guy is also riven with trapdoors and problems – just not resulting in pregnancy!). I am sure this is garbled, and is not a defence of Brand. But the number of Reform supporters who have records of misogynistic behaviour indicates that this is not just a problem for the rich and famous, but all aspects of society.
I hope the above makes sense? Tech companies have lost 5-10% since the democrat win in America; this has been signalled for weeks, and many democrats winning HoR seats had made data centres a major feature of their campaigns, This type of local rebellion is also taking place in the UK, excessive use of water and electricity is not welcomed in many communities, maybe it is time to create that spreadsheet on the +/- of AI.
