With the Xmas break upon us Johnson will be hoping to avoid further gaffs. However with his party split on Covid restrictions the Omicron wave could be disastrous.
One aspect of the by-election that should not be ignored is the LibDems ability to place emphasis on local issues. With this governments centralisation policies a swing back towards local power may be needed.
