HUMILIATING

It is also interesting that the EU seems to be prepared to face down the tec billionaires, Musk has already backtracked in Brazil and the EU has also just ordered Apple to pay a reluctant Ireland several billion! What happens in the USA is also important as they need to reconfirm their debt in January. Trump is less likely to agree to this than Harris – and should it default then the dollar would be fucked! Trump has already said he would sack thousands of government employees so we can guess which wy he will go?

Hurricane Helene seems to have caused at least 60 deaths and $ billions of damage – I obviously sypathise withnthe deaths, but the climate deniers will not accept the climate crisis until it impacts on their pockets (and most of the deniers are very wealthy and benefit from the pollution). A quick look at the internet suggests that there may be a tropical storm that could develop in a similar area next weekend – unlikely to be a named hurricane but could bring more copious amouts of rain. Cayman, Jamaica and then Cuba are also likely to suffer.

Here we are missing the heavy rain in North Somerset, but it is wet and getting colder. Green tomato chutney, mango chutney and pickled garlic are my jobs for tomorrow – I had a touch of Meniers today again – pissed off with it!

Football – top 4 at the moment are likely to remain there until the end of the season (barring a very hefty punsihment for ManCity). ManU seem in disarray as do Everton. My tip for the surprise team this year is Nottingham Forest. Chelsea already seem to have stepped up and Spurs, Newcastle and Aston Villa look good for European slots. Ipswich, Leicester and Southampton will need omniscient intervention to stay up! Brighton continue to be a revalation and Bournemouth and Brentford continue to delight and surprise. West Ham and Crystal Palace seem destined for mid-table
