FARAGE

I am not sure how to react here – he really is a loathesome piece of shit, but he could herald the end of the nasty party! The real concern will be when Truss and Braverman, etc. defect to Reform.

Do enough people have that much hatred in their hearts to vote for such racist crap? No doubt the media will continue to give him unwarranted air time and pages in their filthy rags.

At least Labour are being fairly honest about migration and linking it totally to education and employment. The demographics of this country rely on migration. I hope what I now will write is not racist! When we were in the EU migrants would come here for a couple of years – some stayed but it was easy for them to return after some fun and maybe earning enough for university (I knew many from Latvia and Estonia who did this). It is not so easy to return to India or Nigeria? I also guess that the cultural differences have an impact. Under the Tories EFL courses were abandoned making it harder to assimilate. The lack of a coherent foreign policy also has led to an increase in mass migration to Europe.

The demographics are simple – fewer young and more old people. Take out migration and children born to recent migrants and the situation is very different.

I also object ethically to allowing skilled workers to be attracted here – surely countries like Zimbabwe need nurses and doctors desperately – the migration to this country of people trained in those countries is an economic and social disaster. Maybe we should set up training programmes for doctors and nurses who could return to poorer countries with skills necessary to improve the standard of living there? Surely a win win situation for us and the NHS and poorer countries. The cost could be met from the foreign aid budget which should be increased.

Back to Farage – hopefully he will lose for the eigth time and Reform will get no MP’s. And the Tories are further diminished.

However it must be said that democracy needs a functioning opposition, however (again) this does not have to be from the right!

CLUELESS

What have the Tories come up with so far? Britain would be less safe underLabour for which there is absolutely no evidence; state schools will be swamped by private school kids when VAT is imposed – again no evidence to support this; and then gender issdues which the majority of people know little and care less! Other than that zilch – they are waiting for Labour to say something so they can decry it as they have nothing good to report themselves!

I doubt the polls will return the huge landslide some are predicting, for instance Truss is predicted to retain her seat (quite how when she is obviously deranged is beyond me!).

Weather is perfect for the time of year and the garden is flourishing – love your weeds, most are beneficial to wild life.

ELECTION

I guess that will do for a title? So far we have seen Sunak fuck up just about every appearance, Starmer desperately trying to hold the party together, Davey showing kids how to holiday and trying not to be embarrassed, Reform keeps getting air time whilst the Greens must be really radical to be ghosted so comprehensively!

So I will ignore the tories who have a major problem – they have been incompetent for 14 years and have fucked up more than the economy, our society has suffered. There is nothing where they can say that they will continue to build on the success of the last 14 tears – so if if we ignore those who should not be trusted with scissors – they are totally fucked.

Whilst this fills me with so much pleasure, our election system is fucked as well. Labour under Starmer with a few hundred majority would be bad for democracy and probably the country! He could counter this by at least approving left wing candidates in ‘difficult’ seats. He should also abolish the whips office and replace it with a pastoral type HR, I would accept the need for a whip in fiscal measures though. Giving MP’s a free vote on whatever would surely be good for democracy and be a complete reversal of tory reign of priveldge and dystopia.

I also understand his reluctance to impose tax hikes on income but the public (well most of them who have functioning brain cells and can avoid the inductronation techniques of the crap press) are also keen to have a functioning public service sector. So todays Observer had an interesting article about taxing wealth. I will admit to being a house blocker ( I am single and live in a 3 bedroom house ideal for a family) and am willing to entertain a debate on this.

On a personal note – it was beyond brilliant yesterday – the children and grandchildren all came up for a bbq – they all get on so well! The teenagers were a bit bored but whatever! TBH so much better than spending £300 on a restaurant – we had an excess of food (which was taken home), I spent a lot more time with everyone. It was great to see all getting on well together. And for a present they are going to sort out my living area lighting – one shade has been smashed since Rausi got over excited 15 years ago. Salads were brilliant.

DIANE ABBOTT

Interesting debate expanded by the media trying to undermine Labour. Personally I believe that she should be allowed to stand – she has a proven record as a fine MP. maybe Starmer is taking the purge of the left too far – but that should be a debate for after we have got rid of the nasty motherfuckers in power.

However the arguments being bandied about are interesting. Is there enough diversity in candidates on each side? Basicaly here we have an argument for proportional representation. Should aconstituency with 80% white have a black or Asian candidate? That is interesting for debate as it would be necessary if all races are to be equally represented. It is easier to promote 50% women as they are above 50% of the electorate. Should there be an age aspect? Also it would/should depend on people of ability to come forward – are there representatives of calibre who are involved in politics in an area?

All of which raises interesting points for a future discussion. Proportional representation with lists for parties would seem a way forward, but then there needs to be the local aspect too – or in the age of the internet is this necessary?

NATIONAL SERVICE

This election is getting seriously weird. Announced by a multi-millionaire in a rainstorm without and umbrella when there was an empty and very expensive media room metres away. The a PM who was unaware that wales did not qualify for the Euro’s and then todays announcement. £2.5 billion for a national service scheme. Initially I put this in the same category and the 40 new hospitals, smoking ban, Rwanda and many other illusions that masquarade as government policy.

But why this and why now? Firstly who will be attracted by it? Will it really cause people to switch voting intentions from Labour/Lib Dem to Cons? It seems highly unlikely! Is it a last ditch to hang on to the remaining hardcore delusionists who have managed to survive for 80 years despite being dangerous to self harm with a pair of scissors. Where does this policy come from after 14years of rule, and 4 1/2 years with a whopping majority?

Is it another case of “They have found Michael Gove’s stash) !? I am sure Nick Ferrari and the Daily mail and Telegraph will love it.

WHY?

Why now? Rishi yesterday called the general election for 4 July. James O’Brien has suggested that he has just had enough- a multi-millionaire who is unloved by country, party, colleagues. The other more plausable reason is that his plans will not work and everything can only get worse. Rwanda will not happen and was never going to be a practical answer, it is not a deterent, boat crossings are at a record level this year. Inflation is still making things more expensive. A further possibility was that if he delayed until the end of the term he was possibly going to be deposed by the party. The last possibilty is that there is some bad news in the pipeline for the 2nd half of the year (possibly inflation? War in Europe?).

A reverse psychology is that calculations all point to the electoral situation not getting any better after July (i.e. the economy, law and order, environment). So they will fight the election now as everything is looking worse in the future.

So what will be the arguments put forward by the Conservatives/. It cannot be evidence from the last 14 years! Sunak has spent the last few months intigating various “resets” anyway. Starmer has steered Labour into the centre so reference to the past and Corbyn is unlikely to resonate with the public. So the main thrust is likely to be the culture war and mud slinging. The Conservative Party is already seen as the party of sleaze so they will attempt to do the same to their opponents. However their best attempts to undermine Angela Rayner has been spectacularly unsuccessful, only the rabid right seems to care, will they attempt similar tactics? It is impossible to identify a positive message for the continuation of the Tory misrule of the UK.

JUST GO!

It is hard to find anything that this government has not broken. Here we are not talking just about the NHS, education, social care, mental health, migration, legal system, police, to name just some areas, oh, and water (that is a real shitshow!), but also the very fabric of society. Words like empathy have been replaced with wokism. Not content with breaking our whole society they are determined to smash it into ever smaller pieces. All this is aided by the trash press -this must be a definite target for the next government. An example today – Gary Lineker was being interviewed with the founder of River Cottage about diet and he mentioned the need to educate children in school on how to cook. The Mail stated that he blamed the government – a blatent lie – in an attempt to undermine him. I do hope his lawyers are examiningbthe article carefully.

In some ways I wonder if Trump’s phrase “we need to drain the swamp” might be appropriate when refering to Whitehall and the civil service? To what extent are the civil service complict in the degradation of standards of public service? Stories emiting from the dip and Home Office seem.to indicate that the rot is not just the head of the fish, but permeates through the whole body of Government. It is not the colour of the lanyards that is the problem but the lack of humanity that is the problem. The lack of empathy is a trait of fascism and seems to be a requirement of government (and perhaps the public school system). It is certainly becoming a common element of the white middle class society which runs not only politics and business but the media and entertainemnt industries (todays report emphasises this.

SMALL BOATS

Amongst just about everything this government does – I do not get it! Apparently the determined migrants who get in the small boats to cross the Channel are paying large sums to the people smugglers. Surely we should welcome people with the ability to raise these sums of money amd have the determination to get to this country. They certainly are not risking their lives for the meagre handouts that the welfare state provides. Many are highly educated and would be a welcome addition to our ageing work force.

So there must be another problem. Firstly we know that the Tories love to identify groups of people that are weak and powerless to divert attention from the rapacious jaws of their brand of capitalism. Secondly these people are often fleeing persecution in their home countries, often because they will not buckle and conform to cruel and corrupt governments – of course our government does not welcome those who are not willing to brown nose their way.

OFF

Why don’t the ignorant stupid motherfuckers just fuck off. The public has clearly indicated their wish at the polls. And that was without many young people voting. And still the lame unelected Prime Minister deludes himself that there will be a hung Parliament. His only hope would be to purge the party of the lunatic right wing which has dominated it, and led to its destruction. Could be be witnessing the demise of the Conservative Party?

SPORT AND WOMEN

Why is it that where men and women can complete on a level playing field they are totally male dominated? e.g. darts, snooker, Grand Prix, horse racing (changing slowly). Yet where there are strength/size aspects there are seperate fields (soccer, rugby, cricket, boxing, athletics, swimming)?
