SLOPPY JOURNALISM

The Sun is desperately back tracking on the Huw Edwatds story. Ot now claims that it did not refer to criminal activity. Basically it seems that they saw the opportunity to stick the knife into the BBC without checking their facts properly, but then facts have never been important to them. They also claimed the story was ‘squarly in the public interest’. They seem to have got confused between the public being interested, and in the public interest. The latter cannot be true – no criminal activity, maybe a very sad of a person unable to handle the power and riches thast Juw achieved. With no crime having occured we need to offer our sympathy to him and the families concerned. Will the Sun now print details of the allegations made against 15 Conservative MP’s to the Speaker? Will it now re[port on Jihnson failing to meet a court order to hand over his phone to the Covid Inquiry.

By the way the Times (another Murdoch paper) did refer to criminal activity.

Meanwhile upsteps the Defence Secretary Ben Wallace to publically make public comments that should have been kept private. he might be correct in saying that the Ukraine is treasting the west like an Amazon Warehouse – but he seems to forget the huge death toll they are experiencing. Dorries is being reported to the speaker for inappropriate emails and messages she has sent; Jenrick has not been sensued for his crass and insensitive mural affair; Hunt looks like failing to get National Debt down as the governments borrowing interest rate rises; strikes look like increasing as he fails to meet public sector pay demands and blocks increases for schools; Gove hands back £1.9billion intended to help the housing crisis claiming tat he could not find anything worth spending it on – berefit of ideasand compassion.

NEWS

I find the sensationalist news about a BBC presenter rather unsettling. Firstly it could be that Murdoch is using the Sun to have a go at the BBC which he hates. Secondly it is quite possible that no crime has been committed? And this whilst 15 MP’s have been investigated for misconduct including one accused of rape (who has not even had the whip removed). The Sun claims that no money was paid to the mother and step-father who are making the accusations. The Sun us milking it by claiming that the presenter met someone during gthe lockdown – hypocracy or what? It has defended Johnson and now seems intent of pursuing the presenter. Third it has been front page news for 2 days – is there nothing more important happening – are the paper buying public so stupid? Probably, they are mostly old, often racist, mainly Tory!

Meanwhile – the woman who drove into the school children has not been named. 2 dead and still not named. If she has an alibi she should state it, if not she deserves whatever she gets! Presumably there is an injunction to stop her being named? Is she famous or related to someone important?

CLIMATE WARNINGS

To be honest – how fucking serious does it need to get? Last year 61672 people died from the heat wave. At present temperatures in Scicily are reaching 45C and more. In Greece authorities are opening air conditioned spaces for people. Germany, France and Poland are also experiencing high temperatures. India is experiencing high temperatures and record floods.

OurGovernment is opening up coalmines and oil wells. Not a brain cell in sight! I think they have replaced them with £ signs.

If and I hope itr is an if rather than a when! we get a heat wave that breakes records – what planning has the government done? None other than allowing water companies to impose a hosepipe ban. Temperatures like those in Southern Europe and western Canada last year coulkd make Sop Oil Protests look both pathetic (in size )and prophetic.

ONE IN SIX

More lies from the Daily Mail. Their headline that 1 in 6 know who the BBC presenter at the heart if the apparant scandal is. Not one of the customers in the village shop here have the faintest idea – Mr.Blobby being the the most common answer. And anyway who cares? Another person they can spread hate about, and another reason to have a go at The BBC!

A STORM

Not much of one, but the rainfall was heavy enough for a few minutes to distort the colours, and then some hail. It will have filled my water butts 350litres should keep me going for a while. Tomatoes should be coming on stream by Weds. First one was last Thursday. My pride and joy at the moment is my flame liy, only planted on 20 May,

POLITICS

the Conservative Party seem to be doing all hey can to lose tyhe next election! No sirprise really, Public services in disarray, inflation high, recession always just around the corner, middle class home owners being screwed by new interest rates, national debt spiralling upward, the MSM still making a big issue out of the small boats, climate pledges being abandoned (wait for the next climate issue to hit, polluted rivers and seas, NHS waiting lists at record levels.

Starmer will do well to avoid victory, it is on a plate for him. However moving Labour to the middle ground might guarantee him victory – afterall only a moron with a very small brain would wish for a tory win. However he would do well not to forget about the millions of labour voters who. are socialist to the core. The problems he will face are only to be solved with radical changes in how we do things.

I am not commited to voting labour – only tactical voting to get tories out. The LibDems are great at a local level but are still just more socially minded conservatives. The Greens are closer to the radical changes needed, but lack the depth of talent and charisma to bring it off.

I would welcome a coalition and then PR. However PR needs protection from foreign interference with our democracy. Think tanks need to produce detailed info on funding, as do political parties and the press. Would it not be democratic for the MSM to be British owned? And correspondents who write columns must state which country they live in.

NASTY PEOPLE

Jenrick is trying to be nastier than Braverman whilstLocal Government Minister, Lee Rowley told S.Cambridgeshire District Council to stop an experiment with a 4 day week immediately. Evidence provided by the secretly funded right wing numbskull tank, Tax Payers Alliance suggested an unjustified cost of £30bn. These people seem to hate any signs of improving peoples lifestyles. Evidence suggests better job retention and efficiencies. As James Nash, leader of Bassetlaw District Council said “It is not for the government to say that you must work a 5 day week”. Little creep Gove disagrees and says people must work a 5 day week. It is after all only an experiment. The same people would have complained about the abolishment of the 6 day week and paid holidays.

The railways are also getting a backnash from plans to cut ticket offices., Mean while the Government has failed to comment on the fact that South East Water spent £232mill on dividends(£162m) and interest repayments over the last 2 years, but only £179.8m on upgrading the infrastructure. Nationalised public service companies working for investors not the public.

CLIMATE

Today is forecast to be quyte warm,25C here and 30C in London. Nothing like the temperatures being experienced in China where temperatures in Beijing have exceeded 35C for 14 consecutive days. Torrential rain has also hit many areas with at least 15 deaths in the floods. With El Nino looming we can expect more “biblical” disasters this year and an increase in environmental migrants.

Yet the government is talking about abandoning net zero targets, along with the environmental diversity ones already being missed. With Braverman becoming ever more beligerent and the growth of a Fortress UK mentality I fear for my grandchildren. Will they see the wonderous sights I have? The kingfisher hovering above a lake in Devon, Adonis Blue butterflies on the South Downs, Dolphins whilst crossing the Tagus by Lisbon, Arctic terns on the beach at Seaford. All little things but very memorable to me. With to present government we will continue to use petrochemicals and pollute the environment, put off energy efficiences in housing and permit tye use of harmful agri-chemicals.

DEMOCRACY DEFENDED

So the Court of Appeal have said that the Covid Inquiry should be provided with all the info the government went to court to prevent them seeing. When will we get to know what they are so desperate to hide? Does this mean that fishy Rishy’s days are numbered? Will the Daily Star be buying a lettuce for pictures on its front page? How will the Mail and Express and Torygraph react? My guess is that the Mail knows when it is beaten and will lead on the cost of the plans to combat climate change (Net zero), the Express will slag off woke judges whilst the Torygraph will slag off teachers and doctors and Carol Vordeman. They are getting desperate!.

OUT OF HIS DEPTH

Sunak appears incapable of doing the politican bit! Staggeringly incompetent in interviews and even worse in discourse with the public. He avoids Parliament as much as possible, leaving it to the woeful smug little creep Dowden to take his place at PMQ’s. Nice to see Mhairi Black shunt him into his place at PMQ’s what a loss to debate she is!

All 5 of his pledges seem to be going nowhere, inflation, NHS waiting times, small boats, growing the economy, public debt reduction all going the wrong way. Food inflation should fall during the summer so I am sure he will claim this as a great success. So what has he left – Johnson has bragging rights on Ukraine. So we can expect an onslaught against WOKE – climate change is not happening and doing anything to prevent it will cost families money (WMO recorded the highest average daily temperature for the second day running and El Nino has not got into full swing yet), talk about withdrawing support for International climate aid is being justified. Electric car = woke; solar panels = woke, vegetarian/vegan = woke. then they will pick another target from a long list; doctors; teachers; judges; lawyers; immigrants; students; disabled people; BBC; single mothers; the young, all will get attacked at one time or another by a party of incompetent losers lashing out. And then there are the favourite personal targets – Carol Vordeman, Gary Lineker, most comedians, all trade union leaders (not just for their different opinions, but their ability to be brighter and more articulate than most tory MP’s. One thing is for sure, they will not be talking about policies or their failure over 13 years. They will project failure upon whoever takes over in the next government – Starmer or whoever will need to emulate Captain Bligh to navigate the shambles they will inherit.
