SPORTING BANS

Wimbledon has banned Russian and Belarusian players this year. I totally understand why. But being banned for the decisions of others seems undemocratic. Should individuals be asked for their opinions to decide whether they could compete, but this would also possibly lead to vilification at home. And would also be a horrific human rights digression.

Sport is a great way of sharing culture and ideas. Banning a countries teams may be more acceptable? I am not sure. The England cricket team going to South Africa was overtly political support, USA and USSR boycotting successive Olympics in retrospect seems to have been pointless politically.

Not visiting a country seems to be more potent than the reverse. I would support a ban on the England football team from Qatar this year due to human rights breeches.

STANDARDS COMMITTEE

Tories are being whipped to stop investigation into whether Johnson told Parliament lies and thus broke the Ministerial Code. i.e. they are being threatened with being basically sacked for allowing an investigation into the truth. Unbelievable. The nasty party is being exceptionally nasty.

Would any bookmakers give odds on Johnson telling the truth?

MIGRATION

So Priti Patel states that migration policy is broken after 13 years of tory rule. She is probably too fuelled by hate to have noticed. However the topic does need proper discussion rather than political sound bytes and electioneering.

It was Thatcher who suggested that the unemployed should ‘get on their bikes’ to look for work – I thought I would get that in early.

WORK FROM HOME

Why does Sleaze-Dogg care? Are the workers being productive? Evidence says they are. So what is the motivation for the government? Where is the finance here? Maybe city office blocks being sold off as they are no longer needed. (Which they are not, not needing footfall or a central location). They are basically supporting the property market which is perhaps the cause of inmost poverty in the UK.

GREENHOUSE

It is quite cold at night still so most plants taking their time – but that’s ok! Tomato plants planted first doing well – time to transplant in a couple of days – but I need to create some space by giving stuff away! I have also transplanted some of the wild flower seeds into the front. Sweet basil on kitchen window sill with a tomato (if I clip it it should stay smallish), greek basil not showing yet. Dill growing well as are marigolds, mustard and Californian poppies.

TORY EASTER MESSAGE

We are punishing the poor and the dispossessed – they should be grateful to suffer, especially at Easter. Please ignore the leader of the Church of England as he does not understand the fundamentals of region. Sleaze-Dogg reaching the bottom of the septic tank that represents this government.

POPULATION – UK

The population of the UK has expanded a lot in the last 50 years. Investment in facilities has not kept pace as the capitalist/globalised economy has put more wealth into the hands of the rich. Concern for the environment has been confined to small areas which can become overwhelmed like parts of the Lake District. Large areas of the country remain unpopulated as they remain in the hands of the super rich. Lots of problems but no one seems to be having an oversight.
