HILARIOUS and SABATICALS FOR MINISTERS

Dominic Raab thinks it is important to have someone who has some knowledge of what is going on in BVI. General consensus in even the nasty party seems to be that serious questions need to be asked about his commitment to constituents. I suspect that he charges about £1000 an hour and therefore rationalised that he should only spend 70 hours a year dealing with constituents.

NUCLEAR ENERGY

An old but interesting subject. RollsRoyce are going ahead with a part government funded scheme to develop mini nuclear reactors. In many ways this seems to make sense, an emergency would be presumably on a smaller scale. There has been no reports of what to do with the waste – but given urgency in replacing fossil fuels and long term battery storage and hydrogen fuels still in the ‘promising’ class it would seem to make sense. How I hate admitting that the government might have got something right!

JOHNSON’S TIME RUNNING OUT

With the Daily Mail and The Times running front page articles about the sleaze in the Tory Party I suspect that our PM may soon retire and make a profitable living with after dinner speeches and (to him) witty newspaper articles. Unlike other ex-PM’s he is unlikely to be asked about policy or anything intelligent! It is possible he will head for a safe haven with no extradition treaty with the UK.

Elon Musk

Just noting this – he is selling 10% of his stake, worth $21 billion, following a twitter poll. 3.5million voted! Why? Who cares? He is just having fun before having to pay a bi tax bill and repay some loans in August. He will still be worth , sorry I will rephrase that, his financial wealth, will still be around the $300 billion mark. Although that is probably just Monopoly money as he could not cash it all in at that price – could he?

JOBS

Appointments to top jobs with salaries funded by the tax payer should go to the most able and qualified for the post. Common sense? Not for this government where top posts go to those who fund the nasty party. Some jobs require intellect and judgement, and yet they are being chosen by dimwits like useless Eustace who will select the new head of OFWAT to ensure that they continue to pump human shit into our rivers and seas. It seems the sole role here is to decide what is a fair return with dividends to shareholders, and to keep water costs within manageable levels, and shit on the environment.

FOOTBALL WEEK 11

We are over half way through week 11. Yet more surprises. Well done Lola for correctly forecasting the Brentford v Norwich result, and Lola and Di for the correct prediction of the Brighton v NewC score. No one predicted the Chelsea result and it was maybe surprising that the 2 results predicted were the ManC derby and CPalace vs Wolves. Of the rest of the games, hate and the gashed have gone for a draw, whilst everyone else has gone for Arsenal; half of us have predicted Everton v Spurs as a draw and most favouring Liverpool to beat WHU. This weeks latest table

We will see what the rest of the results bring. Bristol City managed to throw another result away against 10 men and in the 90th minute with a penalty. I suspects heads will roll there soon. Swansea’s recent run was ended with a thumping at Bournemouth, who with Fulham are looking good for return to the Prem. Sunderland are another set of losers where they may need to be a change of manager? I was optimistic with a new owner but some things never change!

Footie on mainstream tele with Oxford vs Bristol Rovers at lunchtime flicking between that and Sheffield Wednesday vs Plymouth. And then St.Albans vs Forest Green for a vegetarian feast at tea time. There are also a couple of other games being shown.

SLEAZE 2

John Major makes damning criticism of Johnson, tory backbenchers are horrified at the way they are treated, the public have started to turn their backs on him, albeit very slowly. But how is it that Johnson is still more popular than Starmer.
