Most places are at, or below the lowest I have recorded. And with little change I would guess the r number is below 1 in all areas. So brilliant, but a concern that the virus is still apparent in all areas, with small flare ups. What does this mean? well schools have not had an obvious impact yet, and with Easter holiday I would hope the numbers will continue to fall. Glasgow, Manchester and Sunderland are still too high for my liking, as the total number of cases indicate a pool of potential infection. I guess that inn many ways it does not matter as hospital cases and deaths are diminishing fast. I think it will be important for the younger generations to get vaccinated too. I am still confused about whether the vaccine protects from getting the virus or just the impact of it? The stats would suggest protection – or is that the lockdown?
Foreign holidays will surely be dictated by the state of disease in other countries – we could go their if vaccinated, but can we return to UK without having to be quarantined at a cost of £1500 pp.?
