And yet again our great caring government rallied to the defence of the companies by blocking an amendment from the House of Lords which would have put onus of responsibility for clean rivers and seas back on the water companies.
The fine residents of Whitstable are with holding payment of water rates until the local company gets its act together. I suspect that this action will spread.
Hopefully the company shares will plummet and the government can renationalise. Then all new buildings would have to pay a sensible figure to ensure newly generated shit is properly processed. thames Water has just spent billions trying to contain the avalanche coming from Westminster.
