WEEKS

Is it a religious thing – Christianity, but the Jews have their Sabbath. I will have to look into other religions and their feast days. But when I was smaller, much smaller, and not nearly as long, Sunday was a day of rest and for many a religious day. Now we live in the age of Mammon and Sunday is a major shopping day and sporting event day we really need to get away from the concept of the week. Many schools now have 2 week timetables.

So I propose a move to a flexy week where people will work a variety of schedules, mainly 7 out of 10 days to start with. Or adapt astrological months with individual names for each day of the month. No more Monday blues or Friday traffic jams. these are silly ideas, but we do not need the structure of the 7 day week anymore. Many people work with different days of, rather than Saturday and Sunday. Football matches are no longer exclusively on Saturday afternoons.

But we are constrained by the 7 day week. let people decide how many days to work before a break – some might want 3 or 4, some might say 8-10 would let them achieve more and then have 4-6 days off, or whatever. The logistics transport wise would surely be beneficial?
