Trump is becoming renderable – the louder and more absurd his bluster is, the less likely he is to follow through. This time he may have been advised that his planned assault on Iran would constitute a major war crime, from which it wouldbe difficult to hide. Netanyahu however has no such quarms and has vowed to continue the deaths of Lebanese children – or anyone else who just happens to be unfortunate enough to be at home when their houses are destroyed. I have some understanding for why Israel is attacking Hezbollah but no sympathy for them. Their actions on the West Bank led to the Hamas attack and their population will never be allowed a peaceful existence – in fact Jews around the world have found that discrimination is on the rise. No doubt Trump will claim a triumph in the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz without any sense of irony that before his illegal attack there was no problem. It will also be interesting to see if the embattled government of Iran has enough power to police their own people. The 25th Amendment should be implemented before he does more damage. His press secretary claims that the President “is the most well-read person in the room” – sorry that is not a vindication but a damning appraisal of those in the room!
Vance meanwhile is in Hungary to offer to support to a man who has been quoted as saying that he is at Putins service. Americans seem to not understand irony – Vance complains that the EU is interferring in the election – his geography also seems weak, Hungary is a member of the EU not part of America!
Mean while at home the UK is using renewables to generate 57.1% of our electricity with gas down to 13.9%. (figures for yesterday at 10am). So why are the RWPress claiming that renewables are a waste of time – they have already reduced our import bill by 42% (last years figures). Lets get this figure much higher and then we will not be vulnerable to the vultures in the fossil fuel market –
