Covid restrictions are no longer as effective due to a loss of trust in the Carry on Screwing Up team that run they country at the moment. Surely it would be better to say – this is the advice we have received and this is how we believe you should act on a personal level. Ability to shut pubs, etc. should be delegated to a local level (Its called democracy BOZO), and proper funding provided. Judgement of effectiveness of local authorities is ultimately at the ballot box. But an interim panel could be created ‘an ombudsman’ for Covid to ensure rules were not mismanaged either too strongly or lightly.

This would avoid slow response to outbreaks, I could see Chelmsford and Braintree figures rising at least a week before the government took action. And what are the figures for hairdressers and restaurants that have instituted full covid restrictions. Town centres seem over crowded, perhaps due to being unnecessarily shut down. Easy answer – shut some car press and reduce buses. Not nice, but there still need to be measures in place.

All in all – let us have reasoned arguments put to us with reasonable requests, nd only use the law where absolutely necessary.

They can make decisions to curtail some freedoms such as visiting pubs, but they should only do more than strongly advise people not to meet family members and friends in their own homes, under extreme circumstances.  They do not ALLOW us to behave like sensible human beings.  LAWS are there to stop activities that impinge the ability of all to behave like sensible human beings.I would now like to punch the smug little shit who said that!
