WEATHER 17 DEC

After what seemed like weeks the grass appears green again. The frost first thing has gone from even shady spots. Temp up to 6C and double that tomorrow.I am not sure you can have double a temperature? Long range weather is chilly with some showers and frost at night, followed by a colder than normal January.

Christmas order done for click and collect next Weds, No idea who is coming round or when apart from Tams & Co on New Years Day.

And now it is the 18th and still cold with the damp. Only 2C this morning and drizzle started at about 8m. Supposed to warm up later.

WEATHER

Still freezing -5 this morning. Tomorrow should be the last sub zero start to the day with temperatures freezing up to 11C tomorrow and rain. This has been the coldest spell we have had for a few years. No doubt the climate change deniers will be having a field day!

FUCK THEM

There are no safe ways for asylum seekers to reach the UK. Merry fucking Christmas. Yet people (I hate having to call these low lives people! have been celebrating the deaths of people in the Channel. Tory MP’s are supporting new legislation which is against International Law. They have lost the argument against Labour, and are now trying to save themselves from Reform Party/UKIP/fascists.

WEATHER DECEMBER

Another freezing one. Frosty this morning so a very delicate trip to the shop at 6.30 to do the supplements and other crap that needs putting in Saturday papers. Looks to be set in for at least another week. I don’t mind as long as it does not get slippery. Sun out but not really any warmer – frost still in sunny bits. No sign of gritters out yet – it could get expensive if this cold period remains. Still it is nice to see the sun – possible snow overnight?

UNIONS

I think the government, such as the pathetic incompetent crew in Westminster call themselves, may have misread (not surprising as they seem illiterate in many ways) the public mood to recent union action. Of course the die hard and nearly dead will condemn union action action that delays their hip replacements and doctors appointments, the self employed bigots (who always seem to have time to call radio phone-ons) will bemoan the public service workers that they are too thick to realise that they rely on them. The general public who have suffered under austerity, then the Boris debacle, then austerity again, are sympathetic to the need to pay public sector workers fairly. The self employed with brains also realise that they need customers with money to spend on their products!

The public are also becoming aware of the massive fraud they have been subjected to by this bunch of shysters who call themselves a government.

WOKE

On twitter recently someone asked what the opposite of ‘Woke” was. My initial response was “Bigot” which I thought was a clever answer. However in retrospect it was wrong. “Woke” people can be “Bigots” too! In America Florida Republican Ron Desantis announced his candidacy for the Presidency by saying that he was so anti-woke that Florida was where wokes come to die. A strange turn of phrase – but this was America!

HOUSE OF LORDS

Hopefully we can see the end to the corruption and privilege of the HoL Labours plan is certainly worthy of debate, and appears on first site to be democratic and reflect the different regions of the country. There are still lots of questions however.

WORLD CUP 16

We have our first tasty quarter final sorted – Argentina against Netherlands. I am not sure who will win this – Argentina have Messi but the Netherlands could be the team without a real star. No team has shown consistency so far. Traditionally Brazil will be one to beat.

England again looked brilliant going forward but a bit dodgy at the back. But what a test they have coming up – France for whom Mbeppe has looked majestic and ready to take the throne of best player in the world from Messi (although Messi shows no sign of relinquishing the throne yet!). I have Croatia to beat Japan today and Brazil to beat South Korea (defeat for Brazil would be calamitous for them). Then Morocco-Spain and Portugal-Switzerland. Will this set up an Iberian quarter final?

Will we have an all European semi-finals? Or will it be Brazil and Argentina and Morocco with only one European side?

Gutted for Stirling and full praise for him returning home. But pleased that Rashford, Saka and Bellingham have stepped up to the mark – and Henderson.
