PRIME MINISTER

Should he stay or should he go? Starmer has just been eviscerated in the recent election – but should he go? Our democracy gives a party 5 years, and for all his lack of charisma and pro-Israeli support, U Turns and general dowdiness I doubt if the time is right for him to go. Labour have done a lot of good things, he is just shite at getting the message across, and rather than take on the toad faced **** head to head, he tried to appease the racists by adopting a right wing agenda. So I am not supporting him, but the next question is who could replace him? Andy Burnham is favourite with the public in polls but is not an M.P. and safe seats no longer exist for Labour. Of the rest only Angela Rayner appeals – she is low on public appeal which may be a reason to support her – the need to chase those voters who are right wing has now been proved to be futile. Her tax dodging could be used to her advantage against the party of tax dodgers!

To be honest the Conservative vote held up better than expected – the racist element will have defected to Reform but its core supporters seem to be loyal. However I doubt that Badenoch is the person to lead a centre right party which seems to be the slot for the Conservatives. In this position they will be vying with the Lib.Dems, and here in the West Country losing – after there last tenure in government!

In Scotland the SNP has shown resilience after a number of embarrassments. They will form a government with a majority for independance and may chose to go for another referendum? The greens would support them? Wales is different because allthough Plaid Cymru have the most seats, they have stated that they are not going for independance – yet! Northern Ireland has moved towards Sein Fein in recent elections. The UK in Westminster needs to pay attention to the Union?
