Russian cargo boat detained – will the British do the same to Russian fishing boats in our waters? Examination inside their wheelhouses could reveal some interesting things?

The big question is what should the west do? Firstly ignore the idiots who want us to send in troops, planes and cruise missiles. Second it is to ensure that Putin does not think he can do the same anywhere else – perhaps by posting troops in e.g. Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Poland.

Supporters of Putin include Trump, Farage and possibly labour MP’s.

I am hoping there is one! Putin has immediate objectives in mind which will become apparent over the next few days. Is it the installation of a puppet government, total annexation of the Ukraine, or just the Eastern Provinces? Only the last seems feasible without a prolonged conflict. The Ukrainian Army does not appear to be a pushover – and is probably being supplied from the West (Johnson has said as much).

Will sanctions be taken against Abramovich after a leaked document showed him to have links to the Russian Government and corrupt activity and practises. He owns Chelsea FC and a £150m home. Quite how he could be stripped of ownership is beyond me, and where does the line get drawn between state and football club ownership – Manchester City, Newcastle United? Manchester United also have a £40 million sponsorship deal with banned Russian airline Aeroflot.

Will the Conservative party (and others if involved) pay any donations from Russians to a fund for Ukrainian refugees?
