GLOATING

Whilst I rather want to gloat about the imminent demise of the nasty Party my conscience will not let me for a number of reasons.

Firstly I am not in agreement with kicking someone when they are down – and Sunak is now coming across as a rather pathetic figure. Maybe he realises that it is time to fuck off to Santa Monica and count his wealth.

Secondly the scourge of Farage – it chokes me to say this but I would rather have a functioning Conservative Party than a Reform Party led by the charlatan. Unfornunately I believe the basic racism and stupidity of large numbers of the public will support the odious creep. Will Starmer cave in to perceived threats to his majority by moving further to the right. There is a way to undermine Farage – face to face with facts about the need for immigration. The same is true for public services – be brave and state that taxes will need to go up to provide a high quality NHS and Education (amongst others including defence and the environment).

Thirdly an easy majority is not good for democracy in this country. Johnsons arrogance perpetuated by Truss and Sunak has meant that hairbrained schemes like Rwanda get railroaded through. i am not sure that Starmer will be motivated to reverse the loss of public freedoms imposed by the Tories.

So now for a bit of gloating! Surely we can now see the demise of the likes of Rees-Mogg and Anderson from Parliament. Seeing their majority wither and die, and possibly the party too, will provide moments of Portillo glee! However I am increasingly thinking that those on “The Trawl’ and ‘supertanskii’ will increasingly need to hold the new government to account. How long before Starmer gets rid of Angela Rayner – the figure head of the centre left whilst the rest of the party has been purged and is now most definitely not a socialist party.

That said I will be encouraging all to vate tactically to get rid of the bastards who have infected this country for the last 14 years.

UN FUCKING BELIEVABLE!

I hope that the Labour Party has some decent comms! Angela Rayner must surely have so brilliant lines for tonights debate? Did Sunak have an oversee of this? The whole thing is getting more ridiculous – and still there are absolute numbskulls who will vote tory?

Or is he going to switch to Reform and hope that skinhead morons will save his government? Farage is an absolute Cnut! Sorry to use this word, but sometimes the worst word in ones vocabulary is worth stating? I am tempted to go for a list here! I love lists! Motherfucker is my no.2; fuck and shit do not really merit a position!

Back to Sunak – will this be the final straw for Tories? Who could vote for them now? Oh actually I know – those wankers who think that their worth as an employer is greater than their employees. The reduce tax argument is one of consumate selfishness.

We need to get rid of this government, but also Farage – can we have people extol our public services for a change? I am not a patriot or nationalist – I just want to live in a society where everyone is valued – i guess that makes me a fucking hippy! YEAH!

TORIES

Hunt has come out against extremism on the right. I still do not like him, and he will still lose his seat, but at least he is an identifiable and real opponent rather than the odious likes of Rees-Mogg, Braverman, Bradnich, Johnson, Sunak, Gillis, Anderson, Farage, Kwangtung, Truss, oh the list is very long!

The way the tories use D-Day makes you think they were there – they would have been well away from the beaches that day! And I am sorry that I will not be celebrating it either. The horror of war may result in almost unbelievable bravery, but at the end of the argument it was still slaughter on both sides. The victims here were not guilty of anything than following orders – the Germans were not evil, just fighting for their own survival. So it there is to be a memorial activity, it should be to remember the horrors of fascism and the pointless nature of nationalism. Fortunately the majority of British people and Western Europeans reject the mindless populism and hatred espoused by the likes of Farage. So good people of Clacton – please engage your brains and invoke conscious thoughts to ensure that the odious little twat does not get a voie in Parliament (and hopefully banished from the airways once and for all).

Also a plea to Labour – do not be frightened of tax rises on the rich or on wealth. If te argument is put for efficient public services and a functioning again NHS I am certain the public would rally round. And also point out that investment in green energy and the environment will have cost benefit efficiencies for all. the sad bastards who believe that they should pay no tax should be called out for just what they are – selfish bastards and worse! I think it should be noted that the vast majority of people recycle – I would say 100% in my road. The climate lobby has gone quiet, but this has been the warmest spring ever recorded. I have solar panels and my energy costs are much less – so even without a smug look on my face for helping to reduce climate change – it has to be a no brainer to roll them out wherever is possible. I also have a little heat for free on dyas like today which started off quite chilly. Force the energy companies to install, along with heat pumps where relevant and batteries (they could even be in the form of no interest energy mortgages on property?).

So how many more days until the bastards are vanquished? How many more lies and pathetic policies will they use. Today it was the Times which said the Tories would tighten up on murder – I think it was domestic murder they were refering to – 14 years of acquiescence to the slaughter of women. Number of female homicides England and Wales 2009-2022, by relationship to offender. Between 2009/10 and 2021/22, 1,025 women have been killed by a partner, or an ex-partner in England and Wales, compared with 451 killed by family members and 241 killed by strangers.

Honestly this government is fucking horrible and MUST be voted out.

RAIN

Well that was not forecast! However everything is lush and green so no complaints. I did one of my least favorite chores (the list of least favorite is long!) washing the quilt cover and then trying to refit it. Washing line has been taken over by raspberries so at least I could have breakfast whilst putting the washing out! I missed a photo of my deep purple rose – it will flower again soon but here is my new yellow one.

TAX

So the wimp is claiming that Labour would raise taxes by £2000. Another fact plucked from the cracker box. For those who cannot afford £2000, do not worry – they cannot take something you do not have. For the rest of us – I would happily pay more tax for proper well run public services.

The trash press called it a ‘win’ for. Sunak, in terms of debating skills it seemed about even; Starmer is not a great debator or orator, however they forget that 14 years of misrule, incompetence and corruption has left this country in tatters.

FARAGE

I am not sure how to react here – he really is a loathesome piece of shit, but he could herald the end of the nasty party! The real concern will be when Truss and Braverman, etc. defect to Reform.

Do enough people have that much hatred in their hearts to vote for such racist crap? No doubt the media will continue to give him unwarranted air time and pages in their filthy rags.

At least Labour are being fairly honest about migration and linking it totally to education and employment. The demographics of this country rely on migration. I hope what I now will write is not racist! When we were in the EU migrants would come here for a couple of years – some stayed but it was easy for them to return after some fun and maybe earning enough for university (I knew many from Latvia and Estonia who did this). It is not so easy to return to India or Nigeria? I also guess that the cultural differences have an impact. Under the Tories EFL courses were abandoned making it harder to assimilate. The lack of a coherent foreign policy also has led to an increase in mass migration to Europe.

The demographics are simple – fewer young and more old people. Take out migration and children born to recent migrants and the situation is very different.

I also object ethically to allowing skilled workers to be attracted here – surely countries like Zimbabwe need nurses and doctors desperately – the migration to this country of people trained in those countries is an economic and social disaster. Maybe we should set up training programmes for doctors and nurses who could return to poorer countries with skills necessary to improve the standard of living there? Surely a win win situation for us and the NHS and poorer countries. The cost could be met from the foreign aid budget which should be increased.

Back to Farage – hopefully he will lose for the eigth time and Reform will get no MP’s. And the Tories are further diminished.

However it must be said that democracy needs a functioning opposition, however (again) this does not have to be from the right!

CLUELESS

What have the Tories come up with so far? Britain would be less safe underLabour for which there is absolutely no evidence; state schools will be swamped by private school kids when VAT is imposed – again no evidence to support this; and then gender issdues which the majority of people know little and care less! Other than that zilch – they are waiting for Labour to say something so they can decry it as they have nothing good to report themselves!

I doubt the polls will return the huge landslide some are predicting, for instance Truss is predicted to retain her seat (quite how when she is obviously deranged is beyond me!).

Weather is perfect for the time of year and the garden is flourishing – love your weeds, most are beneficial to wild life.

ELECTION

I guess that will do for a title? So far we have seen Sunak fuck up just about every appearance, Starmer desperately trying to hold the party together, Davey showing kids how to holiday and trying not to be embarrassed, Reform keeps getting air time whilst the Greens must be really radical to be ghosted so comprehensively!

So I will ignore the tories who have a major problem – they have been incompetent for 14 years and have fucked up more than the economy, our society has suffered. There is nothing where they can say that they will continue to build on the success of the last 14 tears – so if if we ignore those who should not be trusted with scissors – they are totally fucked.

Whilst this fills me with so much pleasure, our election system is fucked as well. Labour under Starmer with a few hundred majority would be bad for democracy and probably the country! He could counter this by at least approving left wing candidates in ‘difficult’ seats. He should also abolish the whips office and replace it with a pastoral type HR, I would accept the need for a whip in fiscal measures though. Giving MP’s a free vote on whatever would surely be good for democracy and be a complete reversal of tory reign of priveldge and dystopia.

I also understand his reluctance to impose tax hikes on income but the public (well most of them who have functioning brain cells and can avoid the inductronation techniques of the crap press) are also keen to have a functioning public service sector. So todays Observer had an interesting article about taxing wealth. I will admit to being a house blocker ( I am single and live in a 3 bedroom house ideal for a family) and am willing to entertain a debate on this.

On a personal note – it was beyond brilliant yesterday – the children and grandchildren all came up for a bbq – they all get on so well! The teenagers were a bit bored but whatever! TBH so much better than spending £300 on a restaurant – we had an excess of food (which was taken home), I spent a lot more time with everyone. It was great to see all getting on well together. And for a present they are going to sort out my living area lighting – one shade has been smashed since Rausi got over excited 15 years ago. Salads were brilliant.

EXCITING

I do not usually post personal details, but as no one else reads this (no comments ever!), it is ok. Tomorrow my children and grandchildren are coming to visit – basically a treat for my 71st birthday last Tuesday. Last year we all went for a meal in Bruton which was nice and they offered to pay but I could not let them do that. This year I think Tams wanted to book a restaurant in Bristol on the harbour which I am sure would be nice. Nice is not a nice word! When Maz and Erin and Ads came up recently we went to the Railway Inn, in Sandford owned by Thatchers, but I was not impressed. So I suggested to Martin that I would rather give them £50 each for the,m to bring some food together. I am not particularly mean or tight, but the thought of £300 on a mediocre meal was not entertaining.

However my idea, which they have adopted, is fraught with difficulties. Firstly I am not tidy! So I have spent time clearing the patio (where the table and surrounds was covered in plants with weeds between the paving slabs! The kitchen is cluttered – I am going to have to empty the cupboards so I can hide things (I should have said ‘put things away’ but that is as likely as me voting for for one of the right wing clowns (Is Coulrophobia a result of fear of people like Farage and Johnson who both look and behave like evil clowns!). And then there is the table which is a horizontal book shelf! With candles, scissors, fruit and jars of nuts (edible) for some reason. I have had a clear out of the fridge – well a half hearted one – the mouldy lettuce at the back and the liquid cucumber have been deposed of! But jars of homemade jam and pickles and chutney were reprieved! So it will just loook untidy and I will laim that I forgot to tidy up – despite having spent a few hours attempting to! Oh well – It is my birthday celebration!

I also went to Waitrose to get some burgers and sausages (for 10 people)- big mistake – £180+ later I have to find space to put stuff away! Why so much? Well there were vegan sausages and burgers and vegan ice cream, and fruit and olives and lemonade and wine! Ah wine. And Holly cannot have sausages or burgers so I got some chicken and lamb. I stopped all alcohol 9 months ago, but what with giving up smoking 4 years ago, it seems like a bit too boring! So I will have a practice bottle today and a glass or two tomorrow – to be sociable. What else was there to add up to £180? BBQ tongs as last ones were a bit! rusty, then ice creams for the muggles, some cheese – I guess it all adds up – still it will be a lot better than paying out for a mediocre meal. And it gives me more time with them all!

I have also been told by Kate in the shop to ensure that we have a group photo of the family – we are not that sort of family but I guess it would be nice. If they ever need a control model of a human who has had no physical contact with another human – I am the man. I mentioned this to Holly a couple of years ago and Tams last year, and they both gave me a hug, but otherwise they are the only people to have touched me this decade.

I just hope they all get here before mid-day – I want to spend some time with them as I feel like a shitty granddad most of the time. And the grandchildren are all amazing.

Enough of that – I am a bit bored of the election. Can we fast forward 5 weeks? Basically there is fuck all happening with all sides hoping for the other to blunder – fortunately the bonsai PM is happy to oblige. In fact he is really pissing me off more than usual. Flitting around in his fucking helicopter when not posing for photoshoots by a train. Does he have relatives in Delhi? The team there is above 50C and people are dying – time to get the climate change agenda into the frontal of peoples brains. This is an issue that is not sexy, and is dismissed by many as being less important than the cost of living crisis, but I believe that the majority of peole do give a shit about it! Only those who should not be allowed scissors still deny it.

The garden is begining to look good – rose bushes growing and the mints thriving. Tomato plant with one tomato now has 2 but still green!. Wild strawberries for the forage effort are good and raspberries will be ripe in about a week I think. Flame lily now head height, no flowers on mulberry again though. Actually there are loads of roses and I hope the kids pick some to take home.

I will make a poulis tonight but will save cake making for tomorrow – something to do whilst waiting! It will be a lemon drizzle and maybe a date cookie with nuts.

DIANE ABBOTT

Interesting debate expanded by the media trying to undermine Labour. Personally I believe that she should be allowed to stand – she has a proven record as a fine MP. maybe Starmer is taking the purge of the left too far – but that should be a debate for after we have got rid of the nasty motherfuckers in power.

However the arguments being bandied about are interesting. Is there enough diversity in candidates on each side? Basicaly here we have an argument for proportional representation. Should aconstituency with 80% white have a black or Asian candidate? That is interesting for debate as it would be necessary if all races are to be equally represented. It is easier to promote 50% women as they are above 50% of the electorate. Should there be an age aspect? Also it would/should depend on people of ability to come forward – are there representatives of calibre who are involved in politics in an area?

All of which raises interesting points for a future discussion. Proportional representation with lists for parties would seem a way forward, but then there needs to be the local aspect too – or in the age of the internet is this necessary?
