COLD WEATHER

North America is facing extreme cold weather -45C in the Great Plains. Even Texas and Florida will be as low as minus 9C. Eventually the insane will realise that our climate is changing.

WEATHER 19 DEC 2022

The cold spell has broken – 14C today and perpetual drizzle. Force 10 winds on north Cornwall Coast. So unlikely to be a white Xmas – Daily Mail is blaming the Met Office!

Just to restate – it has been predicted that February 2023 could be very wet due to La NiƱa – so that Whitehall cannot say it was not warned!

WEATHER 17 DEC

After what seemed like weeks the grass appears green again. The frost first thing has gone from even shady spots. Temp up to 6C and double that tomorrow.I am not sure you can have double a temperature? Long range weather is chilly with some showers and frost at night, followed by a colder than normal January.

Christmas order done for click and collect next Weds, No idea who is coming round or when apart from Tams & Co on New Years Day.

And now it is the 18th and still cold with the damp. Only 2C this morning and drizzle started at about 8m. Supposed to warm up later.

WEATHER

Still freezing -5 this morning. Tomorrow should be the last sub zero start to the day with temperatures freezing up to 11C tomorrow and rain. This has been the coldest spell we have had for a few years. No doubt the climate change deniers will be having a field day!

WEATHER DECEMBER

Another freezing one. Frosty this morning so a very delicate trip to the shop at 6.30 to do the supplements and other crap that needs putting in Saturday papers. Looks to be set in for at least another week. I don’t mind as long as it does not get slippery. Sun out but not really any warmer – frost still in sunny bits. No sign of gritters out yet – it could get expensive if this cold period remains. Still it is nice to see the sun – possible snow overnight?

DECEMBER WEATHER

Temperatures are dropping and to looks fairly set for the next week or more. Very cold doing the papers in the morning but no frost here yet although Winscombe had frost last Thursday.

Xmas lights are now up.

WEATHER

Wet again with persistent rain for a couple of hours. No flood warnings so far near here.

Wintery with temperatures in single figures. I have moved mist of the mints in pots to places by the house to reduce exposure to cold/wind. I will put rest by the garage – then strip the front garden when dry!

HURRICANE IAN

Hurricane Ian is approaching the Florida Coast with wind speeds of 155mph (250kph), just 2mph shy of becoming a category 5 hurricane. Fort Charlotte looks likely to be in the eye of the storm as it hits land.

THUNDER

The gods are expressing their disquiet at the appointment of Truss, 2 claps so far and it has gone dark. Closer now and a bit of rain, but not much and radar shows it disappearing to the east. Nearly 2 hours later and still the rumbling carries on. But the rain is not heavy, but nice and steady.
