MIXED MESSAGES – AGAIN

Calls for reduced taxes are unlikely to succeed when the government is splashing out billions on vaccines. And they do not mean lower taxes per se, just lower taxes for the rich. They are not calling for delay in the NI increase, or cutting VAT for fuel bills. Cost of living increases will not increase the Tory share of the vote in opinion polls, nor will the negative impact of Brexit. If the government want to stimulate the economy they should raise the threshold for income tax. This would mean more money spent locally and help the poorest.

There must be some books about the management of the mega economy? Having had past tory governments tell us that they need to manage the economy like a household budget (closing libraries and cutting NHS funding), we now have a tory government projectile vomiting money.
