AMAZON

If a company like Amazon sells in Britain, distributes from Britain, employs more than x people in Britain, it has to pay full British taxes without caveats that it is actually a Luxemburg company. They would therefore have to move distribution centres to somewhere else and meet the higher prices which could then be undercut by British companies. And there are some of these setting up. Sainsbury and ASDA were rec4ntly stopped from merging, probably correctly, but why is Amazon allowed to have a virtual monopoly without being told to separate into different companies (Like Standard Oil was in the USA – moving from benign the worlds biggest company, to the worlds 45 biggest companies!). So Amazon – pay up or break up! Same goes for Google (they have a virtual monopoly). Facebook, etc. is more difficult
