APOLOGY

I think this may happen soonish. The Labour Party is not ready for an election, it has few policies to put forward. LibDem and Green might do OK with well organised local parties (not here though!). Labour will do OK in the cities, Tories will survive in the shires, the ‘Red Wall’ tories will possibly hold on as those who changed their votes from Labour, and will be reluctant to admit they were wrong.

Brexit remains the elephant in the room. Labour is scared to come out against the shit storm that has ensued. How Sleaze-Dogg manages the ‘burning’ of regulations will be crucial. Inflation is set to reach 10% with few wages meeting this (Just banker’s bonus’s), energy prices to rocket. It is not just a ‘windfall tax’ needed here – but investment in insulation and green technology – (quantitive easing comes to mind when the Chancellor says we cannot afford it). Cut taxes at the bottom end – i.e. until £25000 is reached. Bonus payments should be taxed at 1952 levels (95%).

Parliament needs to sort out second jobs and expenses – preferably raise the MP’s wage and cut most expenses. Would a government run hotel be cheaper for those living further away? Should Parliament change its hours, get online for voting.

Then the green agenda is urgent – but needs to be made a vote winner by all MP’s of all parties. Personally I would hope for a hung parliament where even 2 parties could not combine for a majority – maybe then proportional representation, votes for 16 year olds,

The East Lothian Question asks whether the Scots should have a say in voting in Westminster – maybe we need a OAP Question – should the over 75’s have a say in anything that has a long term impact on the economy or environment.

Different tack – China is moving towards Russia regarding the Ukraine. Where is the diplomacy. Obviously we cannot rely on the press, or even the BBC to give us an impartial view. Whilst I’m reasonably confident believing the news on Ukraine – it is not 100%.

China is probably reacting to USA moves regarding Taiwan. We live in volatile times. I am concerned that we hear nothing other than the militaristic.
