AUTUMN – THINGS NOT TO DO!

BUT DO

Keep feeding the birds

Plant bulbs for the spring – I am hoping for a spectacular show of colours!

Plant wild flower seed – I am trying something new this year. Instead of dumping soil from the greenhouse tomato pots and the cucumbers, I am mixing the soil with wild flower seeds and spreading across the garden. I have made sure that the soil has plenty of yellow rattle – which subdues the grass. But also lots of other wild seeds.

Time to cut long grass, I have had a mallow die on me – I was putting the bits in the green wheelie bin, but have stopped and will cut and pile – possibly for bees, but whoever? And if I cover with the long grass cuttings? I obviously have not got a clue what I am doing – but some things work, and some things do not! Just never give in!
