Why is this? Is it centuries of despotic tyranny, differences in religion? Continued invasion and occupation, or just centuries without freedom? I want to understand – so can someone please enlighten me. I just hope we do not adapt to the same cynical political system which accepts corruption as the norm. (How did the likes of Abramovich get their wealth?) – certainly not communism or socialism!
