What is the point in having a slush media shitshow costing millions when we could have a system which promotes democracy. I am sure lots of people would be happy to be paid to dress up and perform for tourists. The many properties and vast landholdings could become part of a public landbank with income going to the NHS and environmental concerns.
I once supported the role of the monarchy as a counterpoint to despotic government – it has shown absolutely no interest in the welfare of the British Public.
