This past year has seen mind boggling high temperatures and fires on the West Coast of North America, a busy hurricane season, floods across Central Europe and South Sudan, wildfires in the Mediterranean region, devastating cyclones, record destruction of the rainforest in Brazil, and I am sure a lot else globally. And closer to home last year was a bad one for much of our wildlife from birds like swifts and swallows, butterflies and even trees like the ash.
