Politicans are keen to talk about the economy (i.e. their investments) but when was the last time any of them talked about the systems which make life on earth possible? What we need is a Ministry for the Environment which is separate from government. Which can ignore economic restraints, and make positive suggestions supported by science and facts. There will always be a need for this to be balanced by economics and politics. But at the present this is not being heard. So government get up off your fucking backsides and implement laws to not just protect the environment, but to enhance it.
