Science may have got it wrong. My sat nav may say that the road ahead (which I can see going off a cliff) is the way to go. No sensible person would cross a busy road blindfold. If society adapts to the the present crisis (or false crisis if you are a denier) everyone will be better off anyway. It is a win win situation. Cleaner cities, healthier diets, fewer climate catastrophes, greater food security – no brainer.
Population growth is a completely, but not unrelated, issue. Possibly a close second to the climate crisis in its importance. Peoples impact on the natural environment is also impacting climate change. Would climate deniers also accept that poverty is inextricably linked to population growth. The greatest growth rates are in the poverty stricken areas of the Sahel. Unfortunately increasingly nationalist and populist governments are cutting aid to these areas.
