But back to Omicron. Still too early to analyse but some things are clear – it spreads very quickly, and has been detected in 38 countries. Over 100 cases have been detected in the UK which probably means a virtual shutting of the border is too late …. again. The problem with Government is that the so called libertarians (Although they are not hot on liberty in many cases) hold sway with Dunceson. One government minister even said it was ok to snog at a xmas party, especially a government one which will go ahead regardless.
And for those of you stating that it is just something we have to live with – there are logistical problems. We already have labour shortages in many areas, this will e compounded as I do not think anyone is suggesting that the sick and contagious should continue to work?
I am sure it is a case of not panicking, but also one of being extremely careful. I would not countenance going to a Xmas Party this year and will wait and see regarding meeting children/grandchildren.
