COVID

If people have not had the booster jab it is estimated that protection is down to 10% whilst at 70% with the booster. To be honest even 70% is not a brilliant statistic. 0.5 -1.0% chance of hospitalisation is also not brilliant. Would you cross a road with a 30% chance of being knockdown even if the likelihood of serious injury was only 1%?

Johnson is in party on mode as that is all he is capable of. Reading and understanding the data is below his self-appointed status. Gove maybe hankering after leadership again as he has been more measured in stating the government had received some very challenging data (regarding omicron). Sturgeon and Drakeford have stated the need for businesses to be prepared for further measures.

With Downing Street awash with allegations of corruption and sleaze, the ERG group of nutters presumably exerting whatever influence it has on him, and the new ‘red wall’ MP’s being disheartened by numerous U turns, we cannot expect decisive leadership – or leadership of any sort.

The bye-election on Thursday should be straightforward unless there is an ABC vote. (anyone but conservative). If they lose or it is even close Johnsons time in Downing Street may not give him time to adapt to the new decor. My predicted date for his resignation is 1st April as he is a complete joke – Schadenfreude.
