My freedom is being taken away. I will have to avoid certain places like supermarkets at busy times, certainly public transport (not that I use it anyway). Football matches will be avoided for numerous reasons; lack of mask wearing; shouting and singing; and the lack of action against racism in the crowds.
Fears of an exit wave will hopefully remain as fears not reality. Surely, given that England somewhat uynexpectantly (at the start of the tournament) reached the final, and the scenes of unrestricted behaviour, it would be prudent to wait another week to see what impact last Sunday night has on the statistics. With experts warning of 200 deaths a day, what number does the government consider acceptable? What is the government going to do about the geographic distribution of the virus? (I would guess nothing as the poor, the BAME community and those living in overcrowded conditions do not vote for the privileged ex-public school brigade).
