GARDEN

I am clearing the area around the raspberries and then the bit behind the greenhouse. Hopefully the kiwi will take off this year if I can get rid of the honeysuckle (or at least restrict. The apricot tree has about 6 weeks to show life and then I will look to replace with another – the apricots were nice!

Then planning ahead – how many tomato plants? I am thinking 8? A cucumber – they seem a bit iffy so I will research best type. Then some chillies in both conservatory and greenhouse.

I wait with trepidation to see how my 25 mints have survived or not – hopefully lemon verbena x2 are also ok, the chicory was lovely so I might plant some seeds as an insurance. The same with dill.

Hanging baskets – not sure yet – maybe different coloured ones? I will buy in plants, but will make the liners again as I have some old shirts that I can cut up.

Flowers – I do like Californian poppies, ordinary poppies, night scented stock.

Tomato seeds are here, along with dill, californian poppy, and field poppy. I think I will wait until next week to plant depending on the instructions with the propagator – forecast suggests a frost could be possible next week so I will wait and see – even with propagator I don’t really want them to far advanced before mid-April? I was just checking my seed box – I seem to have lots of wild flower seeds left over from last year so will plant pots and put under the greenhouse work surface – I have 200 pots!

Lastly – do I have a go at the apple tree or just let it go? Last year the crop was rubbish so I am tempted to leave it alone!
