Oligarchs and mega billionaires are the result of the trouncing of the natural economic, social and environmental order. There has been, and probably will also be disparities in wealth – however what we see today is both obscene and dangerous. Profit has become more important than efficiency and well being. The natural environment is suffering with climate change just the indicator of the problem. Destruction of the biosphere is already near the tipping point. Insect numbers have plummeted. The oceans polluted by necessary plastics.
With Covid and Ukraine maybe we have a chance to reorganise capitalism to benefit all the people, not just a tiny majority.
