GREEN INITIATIVE

Why no mention of solar? I have paid for mine in about 5 years, I receive £800 per year and my electricity bill is vastly reduced. I benefit from a subsidy from government of 14p per unit which is massively less than the guaranteed price paid to nuclear generators. But me producing my own electricity does not produce tax income or profits for big companies.

This lack of tax income is something which will become more apparent with reduced income from petrol/diesel, reduced income from High Street shops, Amazon, Apple, etc. paying less tax. Perhaps we will need to look at how we raise tax. Income tax rises for not just the rich may be necessary? Stop off shore transfers of money, or maybe a mansion tax, or increases in capital gains tax. Reducing London bureaucracy in favour of more local officers would redistribute money to regions.
