I thought about themed seat belts (Disney, Winnie the Pooh, football team) for children 20 years ago – and did nothing; coloured drainpipes might not have been such a bright idea! A recent thought was why are car indicator lights so boring. With computers onboard bigger than the moon buggies had, why not have brake lights that increase in brightness with intensity of braking, and maybe a green one that says I am a bit lost so please forgive me whilst I suss out where I am going. I would like one which says I am going to drop a stinger if you do not back off – jerk! Or even – a ‘I am very sorry for that manoeuvre”. driving could become so much politer and all could be voice controlled, perhaps with default settings for swearing!
