Migration, or the desire/need to migrate will increase over the next few years as climatic disasters become more common. The numbers of people affected will also increase due to population growth – will Florida see a reverse of the migrations of the last 50 or more years? Pacific Island states will become uninhabitable -NZ has already agreed to take more migrants from these countries. Cities will have to spend ever increasing amounts on flood defences – London being at a huge risk as it is also sinking due to isostatic readjustment. Bangladesh is massively at risk.
Is this all nonsense? FACT – sea level has risen by 100mm in 20 years. FACT – warmer water expands. FACT – Oceans react inexorably to climate change. FACT – Ice on land like the Greenland Ice Cap is melting.
All this is without the ecological changes due to climate change. With weather becoming more unreliable (Apple trees blossoming in November in Somerset?), farming will become more difficult. And millions will be forced to flee rural areas.
