The only viable long term solution to climate change is a reduction in Earths human population. And this primarily means the emancipation of women. We have seen how Western Europe with a motley record on female rights, but better than many, has a fertility rate of 1.53 per woman and an average age at first conception of nearly 30. So as a fertility rate of 2.1 is needed to replace parents the population will decline. However with life expectancy having risen we have not seen the impact of this yet.
I would suspect that in 15 years time disregarding migration we will see populations across Western Europe fall quite markedly. At present the birth rate in the UK seems to be largely supported by recent immigrants. This does not mean that white British will become a minority (although at times I wish it would), but that we will become a much more diverse society.
However the UK is a small island, albeit with a disproportionately large population. Other parts of the world continue to have rapidly rising populations with high levels of correlation between poverty and misogyny and high birth rates.
