People in this country will vote for a left wing government with clear and achievable objectives. Corbyn’s manifesto was unfortunately not seen at deliverable ‘at that time’. The free spending Johnson Government has shown that Corbyn’s labour was actually very achievable and not spendthrift as all the right wing papers made it out to be.
How can Starmer not be making the headlines all day long with sensibly costed alternatives to almost everything the government does. It is no good trying to trash his own party and to think that slagging off Johnson is enough – it isn’t. He has not got the personality or charisma needed.
Basically we have a shambles of a government faced by a shambles of an opposition. Does the SDLP still exist (and is that the right name for today’s Liberal Party?), the Greens are so determined to be PC about everything that no body knows what they stand for anymore (is it sensible climate and environmental policies – or supporting extinction rebellion?). Fortunately the slugs from the right seem to be staying under their rotting waste for the time being.
