New jeans and t-shirts arrived yesterday, and a new red phone.
I haven’t got an avocado so am thinking of alternative mayo recipes. I have avocado oil, an egg, some mustard, a lemon, a touch of salt, and maybe some sun dried tomato to give it a bit of taste? or maybe basil or parsley? But not all of them. And then cook some chips to dip in, with celery and cucumber and tomato. So one for tomorrow as pasta today. Pasta sauce – tomatoes, sun dried tomato passata, recipe.
Trump still refuses to go, but now it is getting worrying, demonstrators for Trump are on the streets with weapons. And he praises them – the guy is beyond belief and should be sectioned! Johnson, having fired his 2 main advisors, or has his missus taken over? will have to take more blame for his mistakes. And BREXIT – surely there will be an agreement, but whether it is in time to stop chaos at the ports, who knows. His record on Covid has been atrocious, and with Brexit negotiations his bullshit is unlikely to bring any advantage.
So crystal ball time. Covid – there will be a lowering in the rate of the infection with the lockdown – but as it does not seem to be particularly well observed I doubt there will be a marked reduction (cynically I think the government thought that a 2 Dec end to lock down would enable them to talk Xmas crap! It does not look like there is any magic tablet which will get rid of this rubbish virus for a few months yet. BREXIT – There will be an agreement which will give Johnson a few little ‘wins’, maybe fishing? but would basically be a total backdown on trade rules. This would be good for the public as it could ensure certain labour and environmental laws. Trade deal with USA could still be interesting – presumably the EU would not be impressed if the USA gives us a better deal (and they are a bigger market!). Too many trade deals that should have been sorted are still in draft form. Shambles. Sun is now shining.
