Humiliating Trump would no doubt be great fun but he did get over 74 million votes, he has raised over $100 million in last few weeks. The rabid ideology he supports will not disappear. Care needs to be taken to ensure that America can return to a democracy where facts and learning are valued rather than myths and soundbites.
Biden has an opportunity to introduce more socially caring legislation (first off his 3 trillion dollar Covid Recovery Bill). But he has a window of opportunity to introduce America to a welfare state. It will be nigh on impossible, but he should try. The media controlled by the right wing will attack him at every turn and the Trump faithful will believe every lie. But he must try, and will have Sanders for support.
