The west needs to tread carefully. Putin is head of a corrupt government but wields a lot of power. Where the compromise that will avoid an all out war lies is difficult to ascertain.
It is odd how countries like Britain can always find money for war? I. guess they sell bonds to companies that will benefit from conflict and the public ends up repaying the bonds over centuries? The Rothschild family have funded the losers and the winners of all wars since the Napoleonic Wars of 1803 to 1815. They fund both sides so that whichever side wins, they profit. In 1815, Napoleon Bonaparte is campaigning against Wellington.
This seems to be a conflict where there are no winners apart from the financiers.
Lastly – Johnson says Putin’s decoration is clearly against International Law – oh the irony!
I have just been on twitter – of course Aaron Banks is arrogant and right wing – but that does not make him wrong all the time. The expansion of NATO will be of concern to Russia whilst led by a nationalist bigot like Putin. And please do not patronise me with comments about democracy and freedom of choice. I wonder if the west had just supported the Ukraine government without allowing it to join NATO (I think the whole set up of NATO might need some examination? If Brexit was about taking back democracy – what is the expansion of NATO about.
Britain has still not lost its grief at the loss of its Empire, still denies the dastardly deeds of slavery and colonialism. But Russia I suspect can be seen to be acting through a similar perspective? The death toll of near 30 million from WW2 is still in living memory – Please-Dogg seems to think we are still in the Georgian/Victorian Expansion Phase of the Empire rather than we are island of little importance still punching above its weight – rather like Sunderland in the Premiership (powerful in first half of 20th century), but hanging on to dreams of those glory years for now.
I am sure Andy Logan will correct me on much of the above!
