WELL DONE DAILY MAIL

Meanwhile back in the real world a new report by climate scientists has detected signs that the Gulf Stream (AMOC) is getting increasingly unstable. Latest reports suggest that the Gulf Stream is slowing dramatically. The impact of this is almost at “The day after tomorrow” scenario. Is this just scare mongering – I suspect we can expect a new PROJECT FEAR from the right wing of the nasty party. However it will be more difficult for them than it was with Brexit – then it was about could happen in the future (much of which is happening) – now it can be evidenced by climatic catastrophes from around the world on an almost daily basis. Today is threats of flash floods in the north of England followinbgf those recently in London, wildfires rampaging across Southern Europe in high temperatures following similar events in western North America earlier this year. Floods in Germany and China have caused deaths, and then there are the countries where climate emergency is a way of life.

But it is OK our Prime Minister thinks it is acceptable to claim that the destruction of the UK’s coal industry was a positive step in environmental terms. The social costs are still being felt in mining communities across the country. British coal was replaced by imports from as far away as Australia – not sure what the environmental gain was in this? And whose government has just approved a new coal mine in Cumbria? And continues to block onshore wind farms in areas of privileged voters.

Please can the government sort out an outstanding viable and practical climate project so that I can at last be proud of being a member of the human race.
